Guangming

Located in the northwestern part of Shenzhen, Guangming District was established on September 19, 2018, making it the newest district of the city.

Guangming District boasts a strong industrial foundation and is increasingly focusing on industry clusters for emerging industries like new-generation information technology, materials, and biomedicine. This young district is home to more than 20 companies specializing in biomedicine and medical equipment.

The Guangming Science City is where SMART currently based. As a key component of the Greater Bay Area and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, the primary objective of Guangming Science City is to establish a top-tier science hub with worldwide impact, serving as a crucial catalyst in China's pursuit to become a leading force in science and technology by 2050. The Guangming Science City is focused on developing large-scale scientific facilities and establishing research institutes and higher education institutions, with a vision to create a scientific forest amidst its picturesque landscape of mountains, lakes, and trees. Moving forward, attention will be directed towards building three clusters: a cluster of major scientific facilities, an integrated science and education cluster, and a cluster for science and technology innovation.

Traveling from the science city to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and Guangzhou South Railway Station is a 30-minute short trip on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link. Additionally, the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway connects the Guangming Science City to the surrounding cities within the Greater Bay Area.
